New Orleans, Louisiana
was my home for many years. It was my community. The
Mississippi Gulf Coast, including Biloxi, Gulfport, Ocean Springs,
Pass Christian, Bay St. Louis, Moss Point and Mobile, AL are areas so
frequented by me that I could navigate them blindfolded.
Much changed in 2005 with the occurrence of Hurricane Katrina.
The whole landscape of the Gulf Coast and south Louisiana was forever
changed. The overwhelming loss suffered by so many was and
remains mind-boggling! Hurricane Katrina blurred all of
the lines -- home owners lost businesses; business owners lost homes;
and some have lost all. This recovery can only be accomplished
by the contributions of many.
The 2006 hurricane season is
now upon us and this year too is predicted to be quite active.
We maintain our corporate offices in Pensacola, FL (a quite beautiful
place) and remain as residents of the Gulf Coast. Although
we ship store fixtures from locations outside of Florida, we are still
members of this community. So to that community
and to the larger community - i.e., the community of man and woman -
well, we're here to tell you that we are going to do our part.
